Angled Boot Pod Air Filters | Honda CB175 / CL175 / CB200

A vintage Honda has to run an air filter, and the factory elements for the CB175, CL175, and CB200 are long gone — what little new-old-stock is left costs a small fortune. These are our angled-boot pod filters, made to solve the one problem that keeps ordinary pods off these bikes: the frame.

Sold in pairs, one filter per carburetor, each with its own mounting clamp.

Why You Need This

Standard straight pod filters do not fit these bikes. The center spine of the frame sits right behind the carburetors, and there simply is not enough room for a straight pod to clear it. Our angled boot solves it: the boot slips onto the carburetor and angles the filter body away from the frame, so the pod clears the spine. On the CB175 and CL175 Scrambler, the pods also tuck in under the factory side covers once they are clocked correctly.

Installation

Difficulty: Intermediate

These are a snug fit in the tight space by the frame spine. Take your time clocking them.

1. A little glass cleaner inside the boot helps it slide onto the carburetor.
2. Push the boot on as far as it will go over the carburetor opening.
3. Clock the pod — rotate it until the back edge sits close to the frame without touching, leaving a small gap.
4. Orient the clamp bolt toward the bottom so you can reach it, then snug the clamp just enough to hold. Do not over-tighten — that pops the filter right back off.
