OEM-Style Handlebar Grips | Honda CT90 through CB750

Cracked, hardened grips make every ride uncomfortable and look terrible. These black rubber handlebar grips are exact replicas of the factory originals — the same grips that came on the CB350 (K1–K3), CB450 (K0–K3), CB750 (K0–K1), CB175 (K4–K5), and CB500T. They fit any vintage Honda with standard 7/8″ handlebars, and they’ll look right at home on other Japanese makes from the late 1960s through the late 1970s. Sold as a pair.

Note — CT90 K0 through K5: These models originally used a right-side grip with a unique inside diameter 3mm larger than standard. That size is now obsolete. Our standard grips will still fit and function on the throttle tube, but installation can be tight. To make it easier, gently heat the grip and use a light solvent like Windex to lubricate it.

Note: The left and right grips have different inner diameters — the larger one goes on the throttle tube.

Installation

Difficulty: Beginner

1. Remove the old grips from the bars.
2. A squirt of brake cleaner will help you ease the new grips into place on the handlebars — but work fast, because once brake cleaner dries the grips lock in place and are very difficult to remove.
3. Windex works as an alternative lubricant with a longer working time, but it takes much longer to dry.
4. Install the larger-diameter grip on the throttle tube (right side) and the smaller one on the left bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these fit my CT90?

Yes — these grips fit all CT90 models from 1966 through 1979. The K0 through K5 models originally used a slightly larger right-side grip (3mm wider inside diameter), so installation on the throttle tube will be snug. Heat the grip and use Windex to make it easier.

Do these fit aftermarket handlebars?

Yes, as long as the bars are standard 7/8″ (22mm) diameter — which covers most aftermarket handlebars for vintage Hondas, including our superbike and scrambler bars.

What’s the difference between OEM-style, GT-style, and waffle grips?

OEM-style grips replicate the original factory ribbed pattern. GT-style grips have a cushioned diamond pattern and measure 5-1/4″ (133mm) long. Waffle grips have a raised waffle texture. All three fit the same 7/8″ bars — it’s a matter of look and feel.
