The factory glass fuse holder on a vintage Honda gives you two problems as it ages. The terminals corrode until the fuse loses contact, and the right-length glass fuse gets harder to find every year. This universal Posi-Lock holder splices into your harness in minutes and accepts any glass tube fuse you can get your hands on.

Why You Need This

Most vintage Hondas run the entire wiring harness through a single glass tube fuse sitting in a stamped factory holder. When that holder’s contacts corrode, the fuse can lose contact and the circuit goes dead even though the fuse itself is fine. And because glass fuses came in several lengths over the years, the exact one your bike needs can be tough to source, especially on the road.

The Posi-Lock holder fixes both. It’s made in the USA, vibration proof, and installs by hand with no crimping or soldering. The body unscrews to accept any length or diameter of glass tube fuse, so you thread it down until it makes contact and you’re back on the road, even with a fuse that isn’t the original size. Model-Specific Notes

• Single-fuse bikes (CB175 / CL175, CB350 / CL350, CB450 / CL450, CT90): One 15A glass tube fuse protects the whole harness, so one holder does the job.
• Multi-fuse bikes (CB360 / CL360 / CJ360, CB500T, CB550, CB750): These run a fuse box with several fuses of different ratings, so you’ll need one holder per fuse position. If you’d rather move to modern fuses, step up to our Posi-Lock Blade Fuse Holder.

Installation

Difficulty: Beginner

Tools needed: Wire strippers

1. Strip about 1/4″ (6 mm) of insulation off each wire end.
2. Slide the threaded caps over the wire ends.
3. Fan out the loose strands. Do not twist them together first.
4. Thread each cap onto the body while keeping light pressure on the wire, until it draws down snug.
5. Give the wire a tug. If it pulls out, strip a hair more insulation and redo it.
6. Drop in your glass fuse and tighten the housing until it contacts the fuse.
