Description

The Out-Front Q-Grip Handrim is a premium, fully-coated performance pushrim engineered to solve the common issues found with traditional vinyl and foam-coated options. Utilizing a state-of-the-art over-mold manufacturing process, it features an exclusive anti-slip, latex-free neoprene coating. This specialized material provides an exceptionally high-traction grip across the entire surface of the rim. It is highly resistant to tearing, cracking, and peeling, ensuring unmatched long-term durability.

The Q-Grip is specifically designed for manual wheelchair users with limited hand function, weak hands, or diminished forearm strength, including quadriplegics. The high-friction surface maximizes propulsion efficiency with minimal muscular effort and offers superior braking control without generating the painful heat buildup associated with other plastic coatings.

Flexible Mounting Positions

The Q-Grip handrim incorporates a standard 6-point tab mount attachment system (Q-Tab), making it compatible with a wide array of premium performance wheel brands like Spinergy, Sun, Fusion, and Dino. During the installation process, this tab system gives you complete physical flexibility over your chair’s width:

• Mounted In: Positions the pushrim closely against the wheel rim, reducing the overall track width of the wheelchair to help you slide through narrow door frames and tight indoor spaces.

• Mounted Out: Shifts the pushrim outward into a wide configuration, creating extra clearance for your thumbs and fingers to comfortably grasp the rim without making contact with the tire.

Available Models and Configurations

Unlike modular or multi-shaped ergonomic lines, the Q-Grip is designed around a classic round profile. Rather than having entirely different model names, it is categorized by tab length variations and wheel size configurations to tailor the fit directly to the user’s hand and chair setup. 

The Q-Grip with Short Tabs (In Mount) utilizes a compact 1-hole attachment tab.
