The PER4MAX Thunder (Wheelchair Softball Edition) is a handcrafted, rigid sports wheelchair engineered specifically for the high-velocity impacts, rapid base-running cuts, and rough blacktop surfaces of National Wheelchair Softball Association (NWSA) competition. Hand-built in the USA to the athlete’s exact measurements, it combines explosive acceleration off the line with maximum lateral stability for fielding and swinging.

Key Softball-Specific Enhancements

• Asphalt-Shielded Front Bumper: An integrated, reinforced front bumper protects the lower legs during base-sliding, collisions on the diamond, and tags at the plate while shielding the frame from rough asphalt.

• Torque-Optimized Seating Geometry: Built with a custom seat dump (bucket angle) and low-profile backrest to secure your pelvis, allowing maximum upper-body rotation and core power when swinging a bat or throwing across the diamond.

• Base-Running Camber & Tracking: Offered in 12° to 20° camber angles to widen your stance, allowing sharp, aggressive cornering around bases without risking tip-overs or losing momentum.

• Anti-Tip Safety System: Features a rigid 5th wheel (or optional dual rear casters) to prevent rearward tipping when leaning back to field pop-ups or generating maximum rotational torque during a hit.

Built for Blacktop & Court Endurance

Wheelchair softball presents unique mechanical stress because it is played entirely on asphalt or concrete surfaces. The Thunder Softball configuration addresses this with heavy-duty hardware upgrades:

• Reinforced Caster Assemblies: Heavy-duty caster stem bolt housings and high-impact caster forks absorb constant ground chatter and blacktop friction without loosening or losing alignment.

• 5/8″ Axle Upgrade Option: Prevents axle flexing during hard lateral stops and fast accelerations on high-traction asphalt.

• Treaded & High-Durability Tires: Compatible with non-marking high-pressure pneumatic street tires or high-durability treaded tires that grip smooth or worn asphalt in all temperature conditions.
